AccSys Unveils Web Site
Pleasanton, CA - September 29, 1997
Dr. Robert W. Hamm, President and CEO of AccSys Technology, Inc. announced
today that the Company's web site, located at www.accsys.com, will be available to customers
and other interested members of the internet community on September 29.
According to Dr. Hamm, "The opening of the AccSys web site is the latest step in
our Company's ongoing efforts to make ourselves more available and visible to
our present and future customers as well as to others in the larger internet
community." The site contains current information on the Company and its
products along with general information on radiofrequency ion linear accelerator
(linac) technology and the uses of linacs for applications in research, industry
and medicine.
AccSys Technology's PULSAR® product line
represents the next generation of positron radiotracer production equipment.
Positron radiotracers are used in medicine for research and diagnostic imaging
studies using techniques such as Positron Emission Tomography (PET) or high
energy Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography (SPECT). PULSAR®
establishes a new standard in optimized performance for efficient,
cost-effective and reliable production of positron-labeled radiotracers for
regional distribution, physiologic imaging research and clinical diagnostic
applications.
The Company's LANSAR™ systems are powerful
neutron sources which have been developed specifically for non-destructive
inspection applications in both research and industrial environments. These
unique LANSAR™ linacs use proven accelerator technology to provide systems
designed for reliable long-term operation in applications such as neutron
radiography, neutron activation analysis and medical uses of neutrons.
AccSys' PL-series high-current pulsed proton linacs provide a wide range of
peak and average currents at energies from 2 MeV to above 100 MeV. These high
power systems can be configured to accelerate either H+ or H-
beams, or both simultaneously. Suitable applications range from synchrotron injectors
and research to isotope production and cancer therapy.
AccSys Technology is the world's leading commercial producer of rf ion
linacs. The Company was founded in 1985 to commercialize advanced radiofrequency
(rf) ion linac technology for applications in medicine, industry and research,
with emphasis on developing an innovative system for producing the short-lived
radiotracers used in medical positron imaging. AccSys has produced and installed
14 rf ion linac systems worldwide since 1987.
